The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) of the <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/country/United-Kingdom" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">United Kingdom</a> has announced the launch of its annual photography <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">competition</a> for 2022.This competition is for garden lovers, horticulturists, and professional photographers.<h3>Categories:</h3><ul><li>Celebrating Gardens:&nbsp;You can subscribe to this category either by taking a picture of your own garden, RHS park, any part of a small town or an outdoor haven, or you can try taking pictures from an upstairs window or capture the enjoyment people get from being in an outside space.</li><li>Welcoming Garden Wildlife:&nbsp;You can subscribe to this category either by capture beautiful photographs of insects, birds, and creatures found wild in your garden or garden surroundings. Images can be close up details or wider views of wildlife enjoying the outside environment.</li><li>All About Plants:&nbsp;Images in this category should include plants as a whole entity, for example, if the picture is for a flower, its stem and leaves must be shown. Images can also include a group of plants.</li><li>Abstract:&nbsp;We encourage creativity and imagination in this collection where you can present abstract images of plants or gardens. Image manipulation and graphic approaches are welcomed.</li><li>Urban Gardening:&nbsp;Images can be of any green area in cities and can contain people. The aim of this group is to emphasize the importance of outside space in urban areas.</li><li>Under 18s (age 11–17):&nbsp;Any photographs depicting something plant, garden or wildlife related that interests you.</li><li>Under 11s:&nbsp;Any photographs depicting something plant, garden or wildlife related that interests you.</li><li>Social Media:&nbsp;Any photos related to horticulture, wildlife or gardens can be submitted via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook by writing the hashtag #RHSPhotoComp, up to five photos per month.</li></ul>The monthly shortlist will be selected by the RHS social media team and an RHS judge, and the winner will be voted for by our social media followers. Each monthly winner will then be fed into the competition judging for overall category winner.Note:&nbsp;Images cannot be resubmitted into more than one monthly competition. As well as, entrants cannot enter the images submitted to the Social Media category into other categories. Images are permitted to have watermarks but the entrant will be required to provide a non-watermarked high res version if they are a monthly winner.<ul><li>Portfolio:&nbsp;This category is open to both amateur and professional photographers. This category is for a compilation of six images in a series or based on a common theme or style. Shortlisted photographs will be exhibited and judged at an RHS Show in summer 2021.</li></ul><h3>Eligibility Requirements:</h3><ul><li>The RHS Photographic Competition is open to all – apart from anyone associated with the competition including RHS employees and their family, board and committee members, ambassadors, media sponsor, and judges.</li><li>The entrant must be the original artwork creator and solely hold the copyright.</li><li>Images must not be licensed or disposed of any rights that will conflict with the competition. Images that have been made available on stock libraries and that may have gained publicity from this may be disqualified at the judges’ discretion.&nbsp;</li><li>Images that have won or been commended or received notable publicity in any major competition before the submission deadline or judging will be disqualified at the judges’ discretion.</li><li>The submitted image must not be entered into any other competition after being entered into the RHS Photographic Competition until the results have been announced at an RHS Show.</li><li>The RHS requires that prior permission be sought before submitting photographs of private property or private gardens.&nbsp;</li><li>Visitors to RHS Gardens Wisley, Harlow Carr, Rosemoor and Hyde Hall are encouraged to capture and share photographic moments for personal, non-commercial purposes and do not require prior permission to enter the RHS Photographic Competition.
