The University of Sydney (informally USYD) is an Australian public research university in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1850, it was Australia's first university and is regarded as one of the world's leading universities. The university is colloquially known as one of Australia's sandstone universities. The university comprises 14 faculties and university schools, through which it offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. In 2018-19, the QS World University Rankings ranked Sydney as one of the world's top 50 universities, and its graduates as the top 4 most employable in the world and first in Australia. In 2011, there were 32,393 students enrolled in the bachelor's degree program and 14,427 graduates that year.
