About the organization
Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) is a working artists' community in Amherst, Virginia, that has awarded fellowships to thousands of the best national and international writers, composers and visual artists. Over 400 people travel to the center’s headquarter each year for an intensity of time, space and freedom that enables them to produce award-winning works that go on to fill concert halls, galleries, libraries and theaters across the globe. VCCA provides a supportive environment in a residential setting for superior national and international visual artists, writers and composers of all cultural and economic backgrounds to pursue their creative work.
