The Cairo Francophone Film Festival and Screening for Selected Films by FilmFreeway

FilmFreeway is inviting all filmmakers to take part in The Cairo Francophone Film Festival competition. The Cairo Francophone Film Festival (CFFF) is an annual festival organized by “Media Hub Agency for PR, Media, Events and Communication” and sponsored by public/private organizations and entities in Egypt and around the world.

The aim of the Festival is to improve the taste in movies, to further artistic links between people, to allow meetings between professionals and to build bridges between workers in the field of cinema from different cultures and thus promote film industry in Egypt, in the Francophone world, the Arab world and other countries.

The Festival will be held in Cairo at Automn 2022. The president of the Festival and the Festival Advisory Committee will define the broad guidelines of the new edition of the Festival and endorse the selection.

A selection committee composed of a number of critics and filmmakers will select the films of the Festival in Cairo under the supervision of the art director

1. DEADLINE FOR ENTRY: Films of all genres (feature, documentary, animation, etc.) and lengths will be accepted till October 1st, 2022.
2. FESTIVAL THEME: All submissions should be produced or co-produced by a one of the country members of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
3. LANGUAGE: Films should be subtitled in English. Subtitles are encouraged to ensure maximum comprehension for global audiences.
4. Films in all languages are encouraged but must have subtitles in English.
5. PRODUCTION YEAR: Films completed on or after January 1, 2021 are eligible for consideration.
6. RIGHTS: Films may only be submitted by individuals with the legal right to negotiate the use of the work.
7. FILM SELECTIONS: The festival will inform applicants by mid-October if their film is selected. For each selected film, either the filmmaker or the individual responsible for the submission should be prepared to provide relevant still images, a trailer, the filmmaker’s biography, a photo of the film’s director and the transcripts for subtitling.
8. FEES: There is no fee to submit films.
