Opportunity description
The 100-Word Writing Contest focuses on delivering powerful stories within just 100 words, whether fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or memoir. Submissions are accepted from participants of all ages and nationalities, including previously published works.
You may submit an unlimited number of entries, including previously published ones. The entry fee is 15 USD per entry. The deadline for submissions is April 30 and November 30 each year.
Benefits
- First Prize: $2,000 USD in cash.
- Second Prize: A publishing and marketing package through Compassiviste Publishing worth $6,000.
- Third Prize: Manuscript evaluation worth $1,500–$3,000.
- Fourth Prize: Literary editing service from Tadpole Press worth $1,450.
- Fifth to Tenth Places: $100 USD cash prize each.
- Additional prizes are awarded up to the 20th place, with varying amounts.
Eligibility criteria
- Maximum word count: 100 words, including the title. Compound words (e.g., word-count) are counted as one.
