Opportunity description

Zamakan is offering free training courses and workshopson climate change for everyone regardless of their cultural and academic references the courses are held on a monthly basis, in person or virtually, and registration is done through the initiative website. This course provides a simplified explanation of all concepts and terms of climate change for people outside the field. The course enables its attendees to know what is climate change, how to confront it, and what solutions can be applied to reduce this phenomenon.

Courses:

Climate Change: Introduction:

  • Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns.
  • These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil and gas), which produces heat-trapping gases.

Climate Change & Women:

  • Heat waves, droughts, rising sea levels, and extreme storms disproportionately affect women.
  • That’s because women are more likely to live in poverty than men, have less access to basic human rights like the ability to freely move and acquire land, and face systematic violence that escalates during periods of instability.

Climate Change For Children:

  • One of most important goals is to simplify the information for beginners and children in order to raise a generation aware of the dangers of climate change and make them able to preserve the environment in which they inhabit.

Introduction To Enviromental Law & Policy Course:

  • Environmental Law is one of the fastest-growing fields of study.
  • Environmental Law and Policy training course is useful for both lawyers and non-lawyers, who would like to understand the environmental law and regulations found in the Jordanian constitution and how they can utilize them to fight climate change and protect the environment.
  • In addition, this course gives insights into individuals’ rights during a climate crisis.
