Opportunity description
The Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) is offering international students PhD programs for the academic year 2019-2020. The programs are:
- Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics
- Molecular Science and Technology
- Molecular and Biological Agricultural Sciences
- Molecular and Cell Biology
- Bioinformatics
- Nano Science and Technology
- Molecular Medicine
- Earth System Science
- Biodiversity
- Interdisciplinary Neuroscience
- Sustainable Chemical Science and Technology
- Social Networks and Human-Centered Computing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree (Some programs only accept applicants with Master's degree, please check each program's admission requirements)
- English Proficiency Test Score: TOEFL (79 for Internet-based TOEFL and 550 for Paper-based), IELTS (5.5, while the minimum requirements for Bioinformatics program is 6.0) or GEPT (high-intermediate level). The test of English proficiency can be exempted for applicants graduated from universities where English is the primary language of instruction, if the applicant provides an official certification issued by the university’s registrar office

What the program covers:
TIGP provides fellowship support of NT$34,000 (about US$1,060) per month for all graduate students during the first year of their enrollment. The support will be extended for another two years upon evidence of satisfactory progress towards the degree. In subsequent years, the financial support will be provided by the student’s thesis advisor. It also provides accommodation on-campus which costs NT$5,500/ month per single room.
