Opportunity description
Passion to Perform invites artists from all over the world to participate in the competition by submitting their paintings, drawings, mixed media, sculptures and photography. Passion To Perform celebrates the interconnection between performance and passion, and aims to award winning participants with meaningful compensation that can positively impact each artist's practice and encourage them to pursue their passion..
Eligibility criteria:
[1] The competition is open to any person practicing art, and each artist can submit up to 2 entries
[2] Works entered must be an original composition created by the entrant. There is no maximum size or specific dimensions for the work
[3] Entrants should submit digital images of the artwork with a resolution of 300 DPI or higher
[4] The value for the artworks can only be up to $1,500 in order to accommodate the possible acquisition of the artwork by Yamana Gold. Any submitted artwork with a registered value higher than $ 1,500 will not be accepted into the competition
[5] Notifications and instructions on the regional collection process will be sent to the shortlisted artists only via email, as approximately 35 artists will be shortlisted
[6] The participant must specify the price of the artwork in the online registration form, as part of the initial online entry. This price will form the “catalogue selling price”, in the event the corporation wishes to acquire the artwork. This price is independent of shipping and insurance which will be borne by the company
[7] Submissions that are awarded any of first, second or third prizes will not receive the catalogue selling price for their artwork, the artwork will become the property of Yamana Gold and will not be returned
[8] All artists and participants, by applying to the competition, agree to participate in media interviews and any other public relation events to promote their work and the competition
Prizes:
[1] $6,000 for first place
[2] $2,500 for second place
[3] $1,500 for third place
[4] A fund has been established to acquire additional artworks from the shortlist of finalists, which will then become part of the permanent collection
