The Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre is delighted to launch its 2018 International Poetry <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Competition</a> to celebrate the power of poetry across the world! The competition is opened to all categories and to both new and established poets aged 18 and over from across the globe.<h3>The Competition Categories:</h3><ul><li>Open category;&nbsp;open to all poets aged 18 years and over.</li><li>English as an Additional Language (EAL) category;&nbsp;open to all poets aged 18 and over who write in English as an Additional Language.</li></ul>

The winners of each category will receive £1000 and both runners up £200

<ul><li>Applicant must be at least 18 years old.</li><li>Poems must be written in English or translated into English.</li><li>All poems must have a title and must not exceed 50 lines in length (excluding title).</li><li>Poems must be the original work of the entrant.</li><li>Poems must not be published in print, on websites, public areas of social networking sites, broadcast, featured among the winners of another competition or be submitted elsewhere for consideration.</li><li>A single entrant can enter a maximum of ten poems.</li><li>Entries must comprise one poem per document and be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx), Rich Text Format file (.rtf) or as a PDF file (.pdf).</li></ul><h3>About Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre:</h3>The Poetry Centre, which is based within the Department of English and Modern Languages at Oxford Brookes University, was launched in 1998 and hosts an exciting annual program of events, which include conferences and research seminars, workshops, exhibitions, poetry readings, and community projects. The Centre is actively involved in social media and digital outreach.
