Opportunity description
The University of Strathclyde is offering Postgraduate Research (PGR) Travel Scholarships. These scholarships can be requested for travel to conferences where PGR students will either present papers or speak to a poster exhibit. Awards can also be made for international travel for research purposes, particularly when the PGR student will work with an academic based in another country. Only one award can be made per student for the duration of their Ph.D.
Eligibility criteria:
- Awards can be made for travel to conferences where PGR students will either present papers or speak to a poster exhibit.
- Awards can also be made for international travel for research purposes, particularly when the PGR student will work with an academic based in another country.
- Consideration of an award will only be given where the departmental/school/faculty contribution is equal to or greater than the funding requested.
- Applications will not be considered unless they are submitted on the form before the date of travel. Retrospective applications will not be considered.
- The amount awarded will be dependent on destination and total costs. Travel within the UK: maximum £50. Travel within Europe: maximum £400. Travel to the Rest of World: maximum £700
- Only one award can be made per student for the duration of their Ph.D.
- PGR students with access to training funds (e.g. RCUK funded students) are not eligible for the PGR Travel award.
- Awards will be decided on the basis of the information provided, the merits of the case made by the applicant, and the appropriate demonstration of departmental/school/faculty support for the application.
- Successful applicants will be expected to complete and return a report form (using the form attached to the application form) no later than one month after the return travel date.
Award Value:
The scholarship value is £700 max towards travel costs.
