Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest invites all the talented poets to participate and submit their poems to win a prize of up to $1000. In its 19th year, this contest seeks today's best humor poems. There is no fee to enter.

Prizes:

  1. First Prize: $1,000 plus a two-year gift certificate from our co-sponsor, Duotrope (a $100 value).
  2. Second Prize: $250.
  3. Honorable Mentions: 10 awards of $100 each.
  4. Top 12 entries will be published online.

Conditions:

  1. No fee is required to participate.
  2. Length limit: 250 lines maximum.
  3. No restriction on the age of the author.
  4. Authors from all countries are eligible except Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Crimea (due to US government restrictions).
  5. Submit only one poem to this contest.
  6. You may submit published or unpublished work. 

Required Specifications:

  1. Omit your name from your entries.
  2. 12-point type or larger is preferred.
  3. Please avoid fancy, hard-to-read fonts.
