Benefits
The scholarship offers five levels of tuition reduction:
30%: Annual support of up to JPY 436,500 in the first year.
50%: Annual support of up to JPY 727,500.
65%: Annual support of up to JPY 945,750.
80%: Annual support of up to JPY 1,164,000.
100%: Full tuition exemption, worth up to JPY 1,455,000 in the first year.
The scholarship may continue throughout the standard study period, up to the eighth semester, provided the student passes the academic review each semester and completes the required number of credits.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student applying for a Bachelor’s degree at APU.
- Have completed, or expect to complete, 12 years of school education before enrollment.
- Meet APU’s academic admission requirements.
- Meet the English or Japanese language requirements depending on the language of the selected programme.
- Apply as an International Applicant.
- Hold, or plan to obtain, Student residence status in Japan during the study period.
- Submit both the admission and scholarship applications through the same online application system.
- Complete the required essays, submit the necessary documents, and complete the recorded interview as part of the admission application.
- Students of all international nationalities may apply, subject to the university’s admission requirements.
- There is no specific age limit stated in the general scholarship requirements.
