Danish Arts Foundation Curatorial Research Grant in Denmark 2026

The Danish Arts Foundation offers the Curatorial Research Programme to support curators, critics, institutional and gallery directors, and other contemporary art professionals who wish to undertake artistic research trips to Denmark.

The grant provides up to DKK 15,000 per person to help cover travel and accommodation expenses. Its aim is to enable arts professionals to explore the Danish art scene, meet artists and cultural institutions, and develop new international relationships and partnerships.

This opportunity is one of the international financial grants for artists and arts professionals that may be suitable for applicants from Arab countries, particularly curators, critics, and cultural institution managers with a clear interest in contemporary Danish art or those seeking to develop future projects in collaboration with artists or institutions in Denmark.

The grant provides:

Applicants should:

• Have strong professional experience and an established practice in contemporary art.
• Already have connections with the Danish art scene, or intend to develop a project involving specific Danish artists or institutions.
• Have a clear research and professional purpose for the trip.
• Be able to arrange meetings, studio visits, and institutional visits independently.
• Provide a clear professional itinerary for the research trip.
• Demonstrate how the trip will contribute to developing international collaboration or networks between the Danish art scene and the art community in the applicant’s home country.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit 4 mandatory attachments:

1. A form outlining the objectives of the trip and the daily itinerary, using the official template.
2. A project budget using the official template.
3. A CV demonstrating relevant curatorial and arts experience, focusing on the 10 most important points only.
4. The official bank information form for international transfers.
