Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent university qualification that makes them eligible for admission to a PhD program at the University of Basel, or expect to obtain the qualification soon.
- In exceptional cases, outstanding applicants holding a four-year Bachelor’s degree from an education system outside the Bologna framework may be admitted and complete an accelerated Master’s track as part of the fellowship.
- Not be enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Basel.
- Not have signed a doctoral employment contract with the University of Basel by the time the fellowship decision is issued.
- Have a strong academic record and clear motivation to conduct research in the life sciences.
