Eligibility criteria
- Students of different nationalities may apply.
- Applicants must be academically qualified for the program they wish to apply to.
- Applicants must have a strong academic record.
- The minimum accepted GPA is usually 3.0 out of 4.0.
- Most admitted students have a GPA above 3.3, and many have a GPA above 3.5 out of 4.0.
- Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency according to KAUST requirements.
- The GRE test is not required, but it is recommended and may strengthen the application, especially with a high quantitative score.
- Applicants must submit 3 academic or research recommendations.
- Applicants must submit a CV and a statement of purpose explaining their academic and research background and future goals.
English Language Requirements
KAUST accepts the following English language tests:
- IELTS with an overall score of at least 6.5, and a minimum score of 5.5 in each section.
- TOEFL iBT with an overall score of at least 81, and a minimum score of 17 in each section.
- PTE Academic with an overall score of at least 62, and a minimum score of 59 in each section.
- Cambridge English Advanced with a score of 176, and a minimum score of 169 in each section.
- Cambridge English Linguaskill with a score of 176, and a minimum score of 169 in each section.
