Opportunity description
It is a merit-based scholarship program awarded to outstanding participants in debate programs and competitions organized by QatarDebate. The program aims to support and develop their skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership. Beneficiaries are selected based on their performance in competitions and training programs, rather than through a traditional separate application process.
The program focuses on:
- Argumentation theory
- Conflict studies and resolution
- Debate, analysis, and mediation skills
- Connecting modern theories with intellectual traditions
Benefits
Advanced Scholarship
- Full tuition fee waiver
- Free student housing
- Monthly stipend of up to $900 (for 10 months)
- Travel support (round-trip airfare for international students during the first and second years)
- Limited to 8 seats
Merit Scholarship
- Tuition fee waiver
- Monthly stipend of up to 18,000 TL (for 10 months)
- The amount may be adjusted based on academic performance each semester
- Up to 7 seats available
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Good academic standing (usually a minimum GPA of 2.25/4 or higher competitively)
- English proficiency (TOEFL or equivalent)
- Academic writing sample
- CV + Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Two letters of recommendation
