The scholarship accepts applications twice each year: First Application Cycle: Opens in November and closes on 15 February. Second Application Cycle: Opens in June and closes on 1 August.

The A*STAR Graduate Scholarship is one of Singapore’s leading fully funded research scholarships, offering outstanding students the opportunity to pursue a PhD or EngD (Doctor of Engineering) at the country's top autonomous universities. Bachelor’s degree holders are eligible to apply directly, making it an attractive pathway for aspiring researchers seeking advanced academic and research training.
The scholarship provides comprehensive support for up to four years, covering tuition fees, monthly stipends, and a range of additional research-related benefits. Scholars gain access to Singapore’s world-class research ecosystem and have the opportunity to collaborate with A*STAR research institutes on cutting-edge scientific and technological projects.
In addition, the programme supports long-term academic and professional development through access to international research attachments, fellowship opportunities, and advanced training programmes that help graduates build successful careers in research, innovation, and academia.
- The scholarship is open to Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans
- Non-Singaporeans must have completed a degree
- Show interest in a PhD or EngD Program
- Obtain at least a 2nd Upper-Class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Applicants in the last semester of their final year of undergraduate studies are welcome to apply
- Demonstrate strong interest in a research career
Benefits
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly sustenance allowance, inclusive of CPF contribution where applicable
- Additional allowances including book allowance, computer allowance, conference allowance, and thesis allowance
- Support for up to 12 months of overseas attachment
