The Swedish Institute (SI) is a government agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It promotes cultural and academic exchange between Sweden and the world, offering scholarships and programs that aim to build global leaders, foster sustainable development, and strengthen research and academic collaboration.
The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) is one of Sweden’s flagship scholarship programs for outstanding international students pursuing master’s degrees. It focuses on nurturing future leaders who are committed to contributing to sustainable development in their home countries, while also creating a strong global professional network through the SI alumni community.
Application Deadline
Applications usually open in January each year.
The deadline is typically in February, and applicants must first apply for admission via the UniversityAdmissions.se platform before applying for the scholarship.

Eligibility criteria
Must be a citizen of an eligible country (updated annually by SI).
Must have secured admission to an eligible master’s program in Sweden.
Must have at least 3,000 hours of prior work experience (or equivalent).
Must demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to contributing to sustainable development in the home country.
Must commit to returning home after studies to apply the knowledge and experience gained.
