Opportunity description
Fundación Asha-Kiran invites people interested in community work and volunteering to participate in the Vínculos Project in Málaga, Spain. The social project aims to support migrants in vulnerable situations, asylum seekers, refugees, and young people who were previously under state care, helping them build support networks and improve their social, educational, and professional integration into the local community.
The project relies heavily on volunteers to create safe spaces for learning and communication and to provide individual support as well as educational, artistic, and social activities for participants.
Volunteer Areas
Volunteers may participate in one or more of the following areas:
Teaching Spanish to newly arrived migrant youth, from literacy levels to intermediate levels.
The Mentors / Referentes program, providing one-to-one support to a young person and helping them build a support network, become familiar with the city, and practice the language.
Providing individual therapeutic support to young people in vulnerable situations; this role requires an appropriate professional background.
Organizing artistic and expressive workshops.
Providing secretarial and administrative support.
Contributing to social and cultural activities that promote interaction and integration.

Duties & responsibilities
Support migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and young people in vulnerable situations through the Vínculos Project.
Assist with teaching Spanish to beneficiaries according to each person’s language level.
Provide one-to-one support to young people through the Referentes / Mentors program and help them integrate into and become familiar with the local community.
Help beneficiaries practice the language and build social and support networks.
Participate in organizing and delivering artistic, cultural, and social workshops and activities, such as theatre and music.
Assist with certain administrative and secretarial tasks depending on the foundation’s needs.
Commit to the agreed schedules and responsibilities within the volunteer program.
Qualified professionals may also participate in providing individual therapeutic support to beneficiaries.
Eligibility criteria
The foundation does not specify general mandatory academic or age requirements for all volunteers. However:
Applicants should have an interest in community work and supporting people in vulnerable situations.
The foundation generally requires a commitment of at least 3 months of volunteering.
Previous experience in teaching Spanish is not required, as the foundation provides the necessary training, methodology, and materials.
The individual therapeutic support track requires an appropriate professional background.
Volunteers must commit to the responsibilities agreed upon in the volunteer agreement.
Weekly time requirements vary depending on the selected activity.
