Opportunity description

Facebook is looking for a software engineer/ research scientist to work with the Facebook team in California and Washington, USA. The successful applicant will help build the next generation of systems behind Facebook's products, create web applications that reach millions of people, build high volume servers and be a part of a team that’s working to help connect people around the globe. Those who are interested must hold a PhD in Computer Science, (related to STEM or quantitative field or relevant experience) and have experience in C++, Java, Perl, PHP or Python. The job’s responsibilities will be the following:

[1] Build highly-scalable software systems using primarily C++ and Java.

[2] Design flexible APIs for Facebook product teams developing applications for web and mobile.

[3] Build detailed monitoring to track the health of these systems and quickly triage issues.

[4] Analyze the shortcomings of existing systems.

[5] Design and build next generation systems to constantly be at the cutting edge.
