Qualifications:
Application is open to those with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (finance, accounting, or business administration degree preferred).
- 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- NGOs awareness/experience is a plus.
- Experience with financial management and accounting.
- Excellent English and Arabic written and oral communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated, creative, focused, organized, and team-oriented.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows and Office, Quickbooks)
- Experience with government officials is a must.
- Previously supervised or managed a team.

About Job:
The Finance Officer will be in charge of the overall financial management for all of EFE|Egypt’s projects and activities. They will be leading the organization’s accounting system and ensuring that all financial transactions and paperwork are completed in an efficient and timely manner. They will also be leading the organization’s governance in coordination with the Grants Management Department and representatives from the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity. The Finance Officer will also be interfacing with all EFE|Egypt’s donors and ensuring that all payments and reports are processed timely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accurate and efficient organizational financial management, which includes:
- Reviewing monthly book keeping to ensure accuracy and completion.
- Reviewing data on the accounting system and ensuring proper monthly closure and reconciliation.
- Interfacing with and responding to ad-hoc requests received from governmental
authorities, such as Tax and Social Insurance Authorities, and external auditors. - Preparing the monthly and quarterly reports requested from the Tax Authority.
- Coaching and guiding EFE|Egypt’s Senior Accountant on work related activities and processes.
- Participating in the annual audit conducted by external auditors.
- Maintaining, updating, and completing EFE|Egypt official documentation.
- Preparing contracts for new employees and renewing old staff contracts on a periodic basis as necessary.
- Following up on the timely submission of all employee monthly time sheets and preparing the monthly compilation report.
- Preparing the monthly and quarterly reports as requested from the CEO.
- Ensuring effective organizational governance by serving as the main point of contact with representatives from the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, including the following:
- Coordinating with the Grants Management Department and the legal counsel to submit new projects to the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, and following up on existing implementation requests with Ministry officials.
- Participating in the annual audit conducted by Ministry of Solidarity auditors.
- Reviewing the accounting books as requested by external and government auditors.
- Leading all financial management with existing and incoming EFE|Egypt donors, which includes:
- Developing program budgets in collaboration with the Grants Management Department to ensure that all program spending is in accordance with budget agreements.
- Following up with donors to collect payments.
- Preparing and submitting financial reports as requested by donors.
- Carrying out other duties and assignments delegated by CEO as needed.
