Opportunity description
Disney is offering an internship opportunity for An intern back-end software developer to assist with the creation and testing of robotic animation software/hardware within the WDI Technology Studio. This Studio is a group of technologists working within Imagineering to create and deploy software and software/hardware integration tools to help increase the capabilities of Imagineering Show Control practice.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with two project development teams to assist Disney in implementing functionalityinto its robotic animation software platform.
- Define software requirements
- Develop support within the software for new hardware
- Enhancing the robustness and flexibility of current capabilities (e.g. homing and controlapproaches, interfacing with animation tools)
- Coding new capabilities
- Assist in the development of a test plan for robotic animation software including:
Basic Qualifications:
- Programming proficiency in C/C++, Java, Python, or other non-web language
- Experience developing on embedded systems
- Experience working in robotics
- Experience with testing processes and procedures
- Self-directed with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and trends
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the Disney internship program
- Must not have already completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must provide full work availability
- Must possess a valid US driver's license
- Must provide own transportation to/from work
Required Education:
Currently enrolled in a university, or graduated within the past 6 months, from anaccredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
