Opportunity description

The National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) Jordan is opening the chance for a Student HERE (Higher Education Reform Experts) to be appointed as part of these teams to stress and recognise the role of the students in the reform process. The role of the national Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) is:

  • To provide a pool of expertise to promote and enhance progress towards the higher education modernisation agenda at local and national levels.
  • To participate actively in the development of policies and reforms in their countries.
  • To promote the approaches and the tools available to non academic bodies such as industrial, cultural or social organisations.
  • To contribute to the training of experts in their countries but also outside when needed.

Job Responsibilities

The Student HERE will on a voluntary basis perform the following activities:

  1. Attend HEREs meetings and international activities (Seminars, Conferences, Study Visits) organized for the HEREs 
  2. Participate in implementing HEREs work plan 
  3. Prepare HEREs Newsletter 
  4. Responsible for HERE webpage (and HERE Facebook page). 
  5. Promote and disseminate information concerning HEREs programme and activities. 
  6. Prepare reports on the activities implemented by the HERE team. 
  7. Prepare studies, analytical/ statistical reports, etc. related to higher education (and possibly to other levels of education if relevant), as may be required. 
  8. Provide support for translation of HEREs related documents. 
  9. Other tasks requested by the HERE Chairperson or the NEO.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  1. Third year student registered at a Jordanian University with an average rating of at least “very good”. 
  2. Excellent language skills in Arabic and English (TOEFL or IELTS proof is preferable). French or another European language would be an asset.
  3. Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications. Having ICDL is recommended. 
  4. Excellent communication and social skills. 
  5. Should be willing to travel inside and outside Jordan, as needed.

Funding

The cost of authorized travel as described above will be covered by the Erasmus+ program.
