Opportunity description
The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) awards a limited number of internships in the Legal Services Section to university students and recent graduates from a diverse academic background. The Legal Services Section is located in the Legal and External Relations Division. The Section provides legal advice and support to the Provisional Technical Secretariat, the Commission and its subsidiary bodies and States Signatories to ensure that the activities are in accordance with relevant legal requirements and to strengthen the legal framework in preparation for the operation of the Treaty upon entry into force.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research.
- Provide support in reviewing legal documents.
- Update and maintain Legal Services Section's research files.
- Assist in updating the legislation database.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- The applicant must have completed at least two years of full-time study that will lead to the award of a degree in international law or related field.
- Applications may be accepted up to two years after completion of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of other languages is desirable.
