Opportunity description
Five 2-year, full-time positions as postdocs are available for highly dedicated researchers at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen, starting on 15 August 2019, or as soon as possible hereafter.
Role description
Applicants will work on their own proposed research plan in close collaboration with other researchers at the Department of Public Health and from outside the department. They will participate in the day to day activities at the department and the specific section of affiliation. They may be asked to provide supervisory inputs to master and PhDthesis students as well as teaching input at some of the educational programs managed by the Department of Public Health.
The place of employment is the Department of Public Health at the Center for Health and Society in the center of Copenhagen with one section based at Medical Museion.
Eligibility
The Department of Public Health is looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic researchers with the following competencies and experience:
- A completed PhD.
- Experienced in research methods and theory of relevance for your proposed research.
- Publications in international peer reviewed journals.
- Past experience from an international research environment.
- Enterprising.
- Excellent skills in both written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams.
- Research project management experience considered an advantage.
- Teaching and supervisory experience at university level considered an advantage.
Terms of employment
- Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
- The monthly salary starts at 33,600 DKK/ approx. 4,480 Euro.
- Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
- Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

- A brief presentation of proposed research including alignment with the research at the Department of Public Health (max three pages). In addition to a brief presentation of the proposed research, the outline may include anticipated international partners and possible funding opportunities for the activities.
- CV incl. education, work/research experience, language skills, past funding obtained and other skills relevant for the position.
- A certified or signed copy of a PhD certificate and Master of Science certificate.
- List of publications.
