Opportunity description

Orange offers a job opportunity as a public cloud implementation and build engineer in Egypt. You will share responsibility in the implementation, operation, and management of flexible engine cloud infrastructure. The cloud operation engineer uses a strong understanding of all aspects of a cloud-centered data center both on a physical level and virtual level, and the ability to troubleshoot to identify and resolve very complex problems in a timely and professional manner. The role also requires strong execution and focus to meet the needs of the cloud customers.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or 4+ years of experience in a technical position.
  • 2+ years of experience in system administration/cloud implementation.
  • Excellent knowledge of OpenStack cloud platform and its different services.
  • Fluency in English in both writing and speaking skills, French is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers.
  • Critical thinking skills, problem-solving aptitude.

It's preferred to have:

  • Experience in implementing large-scale cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as a productive member of a team ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve results under pressure and manages time effectively and according to priorities.
  • Experience working on a geographically dispersed team.
  • Solid knowledge of AWS public cloud and its different services.
  • Proven experience in layer 3 technologies, including IPv4, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPv6, HSRP, and VRRP.
  • Proven experience in working with Network Technologies including VRF, MPLS, IPsec, and BVPN.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in network administration (DNS, BGP, Proxy, Load Balancing).
  • Implementing appropriate security, and monitoring tools for cloud networks.
  • Understanding of firewall concepts and rules.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, such as:
    • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
    • Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
    • Software-defined networks (SDN).
    • Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
    • Open Virtual Switch.
    • OpenStack Neutron (DVR).
    • Linux system administration experience.
    • Linux performance tuning.
    • Linux kernel's networking stack.
    • Linux Namespaces.
    • Linux Load balancer.
    • Linux Virtual Server.
    • HAProxy.
    • Scripting/programming experience.
    • Ansible.
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • At least 3 years of IT/Network/cloud operation technical experience.
  • At least 2 years of practice in an ITIL-managed activity.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  1. Recommend technical solutions that will enhance performance, increase redundancy, and add flexibility to the existing infrastructure.
  2. Quickly turn business problems into technical solutions.
  3. Manage configurations and the deployment of equipment in compliance with established technology policies.
  4. Implement new changes and services in a pre-prod environment and validate the changes meet the standards and criteria.
  5. Document all the steps involved during the changes, and be able to do any requested documents and guides of the changes as needed.
  6. Interact with other team members to offer assistance in troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer activities.
  7. Regular participation in change control activities that comply with ITIL change management.
  8. Build solutions and scripts that enhance the function of the site and help operate and maintain the infrastructure.
