Oxfam is offering a job opportunity for youth as a Technical Researcher ToR in Jordan. The role of the technical researcher is to define the interview methods and tools and to document the interviews (by recording / photographing / taking notes, and writing or summarizing the interviews). You will help the community networker ToR researcher in conducting short interviews with actors in the field of youth change to learn about their goals, challenges, needs, opportunities, collaborations and networks.
Eligibility criteria:
- A 30 years old young man.
- He has strong experience conducting research, designing and applying research methodologies or remotely.
- Collecting, analyzing and documenting data regarding the economic participation of youth.
- Technical skills in recording and editing video clips.
- Working language is Arabic while the documentation (written) language is English or French.
- He must be aware of the relevant data protection policies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in online workshops, regional and international meetings (online and if possible on the ground).
- Participate in launching online in all countries with the team consisting of the research team from each country in addition to youth councils.
- Contribute to the discussion of the framework for the data collection process.
- Assist the Community Network Officer and Regional Research Coordinator to agree on the approach, framework, and schedule.
- Preparing meetings, participating in meetings with the Youth Council and Regional Research Coordinator to request and implement advice on improvements and gaps.
- Determine the possible ways to document the outcome of the interview with the regional researcher.
- Work closely with the Regional Research Coordinator to agree on the interview method and tool.
- Design, organize and acquire tools for documenting the outcome of the interviews (including voice recorder, camcorder, and video editing software)
- Support the community network officer in planning and conducting short interviews with youth-led groups, according to agreed timelines.
- Document the interviews using agreed methods and tools by recording / photographing and / or taking notes, writing and summarizing the interviews)
- Record and edit video clips of the interviews when required.
- Adhere to all relevant data protection policies.
- Analyzing and understanding research findings to arrive at understandable findings, conclusions and recommendations, specific to the country context.
- Actively participate in evaluation meetings set by the Regional Coordinator.
- Contribute to documenting results, analysis, reports and visual materials.
