Aon is looking for an Analyst; Health & Benefits to be a part of an industry-leading team. The candidate will help empower results for their clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of their Health & Benefits Consulting practice within Aon Hewitt in Vancouver, BC. As an Analyst, he/she will report directly to the Senior Consultant.
Responsibilities:
[1] Providing analytical and technical support in plan design, financing, pricing and delivery of medical, dental, life and disability programs.
[2] Analyzing claims, identifying anomalies, estimating future plan costs and developing pricing models.
[3] Preparing quarterly experience reviews and renewal underwriting analyses.
[4] Participating in the negotiation of renewal ratings.
[5] Reviewing contracts, employee booklets and financial statements.
[6] Preparing specifications for seeking quotations.
[7] Writing reports and correspondence.
[8] Peer reviewing data and reports.
[9] Assisting consultants in client meetings.
[10] Developing strong working relationships with clients and group benefits insurance company representatives.
[11] Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of group systems, products and technology, and having a thorough understanding of how these relate to group insurance consulting.
[12] Leading by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practice.
Qualifications:
[1] Two (2) to three (3) years of progressive experience in a consulting or group benefits insurance environment.
[2] Strong aptitude in mathematics and financial analysis.
[3] Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written.
[4] Client focused and proven relationship building skills.
[5] Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
[6] Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
[7] Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure.
[8] Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
[9] Previous experience working in a group underwriting and/or group benefits environment would be an asset.
[10] Completed Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) exams are considered a strong asset.
[11] Post-Secondary degree or a combination of education and equivalent years of industry experience.
[12] Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including courses and certifications (i.e. Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA) and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)).
