Opportunity description
Microsoft offers a job opportunity as an HR data management program manager in the USA. You will lead to cultivate a data-driven culture, establish a change management approach, and increase data literacy across HR. You will engage through stewardship, partners, and key stakeholder communities to foster an understanding of reliable and responsible data management methods and standards, promote transparency and collaboration to break down silos, empower users with data they require for business processes.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Data management strategy and program maturity as you will develop the strategy, create clarity, and influence the maturity over time within the HR organization so it can understand data and proper data management efforts. Understanding that data has value and must be managed through a unified and transparent cross-functional collaboration between HR business and its engineering partners to ensure quality, appropriate use, and to maximize business value will be a key objective. Having a growth mindset, you will be maturing the organization and identifying opportunities for improvement in business process management, and developing a data-driven culture.
- Data lifecycle management as you will enable the business to manage the lifecycle that defines the stages of HR data through creation, usage, storage, archiving and deletion to meet business needs, technical capabilities, and legal requirements. To deliver success, you will standardize and create a holistic approach to data management, data retention and deletion, and incorporate the operational functions into the rhythm of business, including an archive strategy as part of system management to reduce the overall HR systems footprint, reduce impacts to business operations, and to meet regulatory and legal compliance to limit overall risk to the business.
- Document governance as the HR Data Management and Governance Program is embarking on a multi-year journey with HR business, and the Corporate Records Management and Microsoft Digital Engineering partners to realize an end to end solution to support HR processes globally for creating, managing, and storing personnel documents throughout the employee lifecycle, which will incorporate template and electronic signature management and governance, and document storage (with data minimization practices and retention standards in place) as a single source. You will function in a lead capacity to ensure business requirements and project milestones are being met and will create risk based reporting for leadership awareness and decision-making.
- Data artifact management as you will drive and define the blueprint for understanding the data ecosystem through the development of data artifacts. Data artifacts include the metadata (data dictionary – define critical data and business rules), data and system mapping, etc. with alignment to HR Taxonomy and business processes. Data artifacts will provide visibility for understanding what data is in the ecosystem, where it is used, and how it flows and will support better intelligence for HR data for more impactful business decisions. In this role you will coordinate efforts with stewards as the business SMEs who provide definition and requirements and will manage and maintain the data catalog in Azure Purview.
- Person master data management as you will lead the ‘Person’ (Candidate/Employee/Contingent Staff) master data management strategy utilizing data artifacts and creating Person Master Data Management Standards.
- Create a central hub (database) as the source for person master data objects, definitions, and business rules.
