The International Rescue Committee 'IRC' is offering a job opportunity in Germany as a Programme Development Advisor. The Programme Development Advisor will lead and support new programme and business development efforts, in line with IRC’s Business Development strategy aspirations, in particular looking to increase IRC's share of humanitarian funding in the near term while diversifying our donors and targeting development opportunities.
Role:-
Develop and support the design of business development plans and strategy.
Build IRC’s profile by building visibility with donors, peers and partners.
Lead and assist in the identification, tracking and updating of new business opportunities across a variety of technical sectors, regions, and clients.
Lead in the development of donor proposals by ensuring their completeness and that quality standards, compliance and deadlines are met.
Write and edit non-technical sections of proposals, including Past Performance, Corporate Capabilities, Staffing and Management Plan, Country Context, CVs, etc.
Review final donor proposals, including budgets, before submission
Interpret donor solicitations, rules and regulations and provide quality assurance.
Manage, review and negotiate grant contracts and partnership agreements.
Facilitating internal post-submission debrief sessions to glean lessons learned.
Collaborating on organizational and system improvements.
Requirements:-
University degree in relevant field, e.g. international relations, political science, public administration or vocational training.
Several years’ experience writing grants and developing funding proposals.
Experience developing and managing project concepts and funding proposals for humanitarian/development work (for INGOs) from government/statutory donors – especially ECHO and GFFO.
Experience in proposal budgeting a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively in ‘remote’ and diverse teams.
Support spirit as this role almost exclusively supports colleagues in the field.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Ability to prioritize effectively.
Ability to travel internationally; (up to 20% of time).
Excellent English and German language skills.
Proficiency in French is desired.
