Opportunity description

World Health Organization is offering a Job opportunity to Egyptians to work as Technical Officer in Egypt. The successful applicant will Liaise with divisional directors as well as external experts and partners to obtain relevant technical information, attend meetings with the Regional Director and do any other tasks related to the job.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the preparation of technical documents, papers, and reports as required by the Chef de Cabinet.
  2. Propose, coordinate, develop and implement analytical methods/tools and metrics to support the monitoring and evaluation of strategic technology initiatives.
  3. Liaise with divisional directors as well as external experts and partners to obtain relevant technical information
  4. Support the Chef de Cabinet in the negotiation and implementation of technical cooperation projects and coordinate the organization and preparation of technical meetings conducted by the RDO.
  5. Review and analyze progress on technical matters, elaboration, and implementation of inter-programmatic and inter-sectoral activities for the priority areas of work in the RDO.
  6. Organizing technical projects and following them through to their completion.
  7. Attend meetings with the Regional Director, prepare minutes or reports on such meetings and follow up on the implementation of delegated actions and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Essential: University degree in public health or health-related Sciences.
  • Desirable: Master's Degree in public health or health-related sciences.

Experience:

  • Essential: At least five years' experience in public health with a specific focus on health policy, strategic management and planning, and monitoring and evaluation of public health programs.
  • Desirable: Experience in strategic management principles and practices. At least three years' experience within the United Nations System and working with the international partners.

Language Skills:

  • Essential: Expert knowledge of English.
  • Desirable: Intermediate knowledge of French. Intermediate knowledge of Arabic.

  2. Ability to multi-task and complete jobs, with efficiency and on short notice.
  3. Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  6. Ability to represent Chef de Cabinet's interests in technical issues with external authorities and counterparts, maintaining constant fruitful liaisons.
