The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is offering a job opportunity as a EuFMD Virtual Training Specialist. It is expected that these specialists will work in support of the core EuFMD programme and/or with the FAO regional partners within the VLC initiatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities:-
Instructional design specialist and learning technology specialist:
Work alongside subject matter experts to analyse training needs, provide guidance on the training solutions and develop course outlines and storyboards for virtual learning events, according to best practices in adult distance education;
Support the improvement of existing online training tools, particularly developing innovative solutions to support virtual training delivery in low resource settings, including mobile technologies.
Develop interactive and engaging virtual learning content using authoring tools including the Articulate 360 suite.
Manage Moodle (Workplace) based virtual learning environment, including supporting content creation, data analysis and advanced operational functionalities.
Provide training and mentorship on the development of virtual training to subject matter experts and operational specialists.
Project manage the development of online courses and resources.
Support the implementation of quality assurance processes for virtual training.
Perform other duties, if required.
Veterinary education specialist:
Work alongside subject matter experts to analyse training needs, provide guidance on the training solutions and develop course outlines and storyboards for virtual learning events, according to best practices in adult distance education.
Ensure that virtual learning materials developed are optimised for veterinary audiences and in-line with the strategic objectives of EuFMD and/or the VLC.
In collaboration with subject matter experts, author content to be included in online courses and resources.
Review and suggest improvements to course materials developed by instructional design specialists.
Project manage the development of online courses and resources.
Support the implementation of quality assurance and impact assessment processes for virtual training.
Perform other duties, if required.
Requirements:-
For Consultants:
Advanced university degree in a discipline relevant to the duties listed or otherwise related to FAO’s Programme of Work, including veterinary and technical field disciplines.
At least two years of relevant work experience in education, instructional design, learning technology, management of learning management system(s) or project management for technical training programs.
Working knowledge (Level C) of English and limited knowledge (Level B) of one of FAO’s Official languages: French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian.
For PSAs:
Technical specialization or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the duties listed or otherwise related to FAO’s Programme of Work, including veterinary and technical field disciplines.
At least two years of relevant work experience in education, instructional design, learning technology, management of learning management system(s) or project management for technical training programs.
Working knowledge (Level C) of English is required.

Selection Criteria:-
Evidence of the ability to create engaging and interactive virtual learning courses.
Demonstrated proficiency with virtual learning authoring tools software, including Articulate 360 suite.
Demonstrated proficiency of management of virtual learning environments, including Moodle (according to the specific profile).
Prior experience of development of virtual learning for international, adult and/or audiences in the animal heath field.
Communication skills in English.
Ability to work accurately under pressure paying attention to details.
Independent and capacity to prioritize requested actions in order to meet all the deadlines.
