Opportunity description

Schneider Electric is offering a job opportunity for a qualified full-time Sales Engineer to join the IT Business team in Australia in 2019. The Sales Engineer, Cloud and Service Providers should become deeply embedded within the largest accounts, providing technical expertise and advice to local engineering and operations teams, scoping requirements together with the provision of quotations, and to manage the traffic flow of requirements to execution teams. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute account plans to support existing and new customers for UPS Power and infrastructure for critical Data center applications. The role will be focused on Schneider’s largest key Data center accounts
  2. Support internal teams with technical advice and support, managing the flow of requests, and ensuring response rate to requests is at optimum levels
  3. Articulate to the customer the business benefit and technical advantages of proposed solutions
  4. Assist the customer in the evaluation and definition of their requirements and any perceived constraints
  5. Provide prescription activity
  6. Preparation of quotes for tenders and support activity for execution teams

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Interest in the data center technology landscape 
  2. Applicants should be curious, driven, technical sales professionals with strong commercial sensibility, collaborative, passionate and focused
  3. Tertiary qualifications in engineering with experience in Information systems in the manufacturing space, operations management, information technology and interest in big data
  4. The ability to build long term, customer focused relationships is essential with solid, direct and related sales experience highly advantageous
  5. Sound commercial acumen with an enabling mindset, with the confidence to propose a solution/outcome to meet the customer’s business needs
  6. Ability to communicate the differentiating elements in a simple yet convincing manner
  7. Technical engineering/electrical design or validation background and detailed understanding of data center and cloud technology and key market drivers
  8. Ability and willingness to work onsite with the customer approx. 30% of the time
  9. An influential communicator at all levels
