Opportunity description

Nestle is looking for a regional sales manager for Nespresso to work remotely in the Montreal region and report to the regional sales manager lead. This role is responsible for regional field sales efforts according to the national strategy, in order to maximize sales. You will enhance machine assortment and brand visibility at the Points of Sale (POS) while building strong relationships with store management and sales associates as well as make Nespresso the preferred coffee system in stores and be a passionate ambassador of the Nespresso brand. As a regional sales manager lead, you will establish and manage the relationship with the different Points of Sales (POS) and ensure that Nespresso machine range availability in trade and ensure consistency of Nespresso brand presence and the customer experience in all POS. You will oversee all aspects of independent account management including, but not limited to securing shelf space, durable POS opportunity, demonstration, merchandising, etc. You will educate and motivate the POS about the latest innovations/changes concerning machines, coffee and the organization and manage the demo program within the defined territory. You will ensure compliance with Nestlé and Nespresso business principles and policies.

  • You should already have progressive sales experience, coupled with your highly organized, dynamic approach with account management experience.

  • You must also have:
  1. From 3 to 5 years’ experience in marketing or sales in fast-moving consumer or luxury goods.
  2. Track record of successful outside sales management.
  3. Some physical labor required (up to 50lbs).
  4. Valid driver’s license.
  5. Bachelor’s degree.
  6. Be business-oriented, autonomous, diligent and creative.
  7. Strong communication/presentation skills.
  8. Ability to demonstrate and convey key brand messages with passion, credibility and sincerity.
  9. Ability to transfer knowledge on the three pillars of Nespresso, to demonstrators and retail sales force.
  10. Be flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment.
  11. Analytical skills.
  12. Ability to self-manage remotely.
  13. In-store merchandising experience and creativity.
  14. Good knowledge of the retail landscape in Canada in luxury goods.
  15. Ability to work some evenings/weekends.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage machine stock in stores to ensure assortment/supply and minimize OOS as well as updating of expired capsule sampler packs and coffee supply for tasting.
  • Analyze business data in order to prepare and use it for POS discussions and negotiations.
  • Ensure consistency of Nespresso brand presence and the customer experience in all POS.
  • Visit stores on a daily basis according to your time and territory plan.
  • Negotiate sell-out activities to maximize product rotation in store.
  • Ensure the brand image is respected (per brand guidelines).
  • Secure permanent coffee tasting at POS as the base of customer experience at POS.
  • Ensure an effective partnership between the POS and Nespresso that secures the interests of both parties; maximizing sales and brand visibility (durable and non-durable POSM).
  • Identify and secure POS in high ROI/potential outlets for Nespresso.
  • Maximize promotional activities and machine launch communication materials.
  • Manage demonstration activities according to trade guidelines, terms and conditions of the agency contract, and the use of the planning and reporting tool.  
  • Review and assess demonstrator/agency performance according to the key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that all compliance and control measures of the demonstrators are audited and adhered to on-going.
  • Comply with all Nespresso policies (expenses, travel, free goods, demonstration, health, and safety, etc.).
  • Submit all required HQ reporting accurately and on time.
