Opportunity description

IRC offers a job opportunity in Lebanon as a consultant - Training of Trainers. You will support in providing capacity building training for IRC staff and partners on how to integrate creative materials during PSS sessions and when interacting with children in general. The consultant will conduct face to face training respecting the social distancing with the activities happening within the sessions.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • University degree in psychology, social work with experience in mental health, or another relevant degree. A certificate in play therapy and/or art therapy is preferable.
  • At least 5 years of professional work experience at national and international levels in protection, child protection, psychosocial support and curriculum/manual development.
  • Experience in working with children and vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  1. Check background PSS programs that are already existing and how they can be adapted within the training sessions.
  2. Conduct small group training sessions for IRC staff and partners, 10 for each session, on how to integrate creative tools like puppets and art in the children's sessions. Clear curriculum technics and methodology should include the following areas of knowledge: goals of integrating creative techniques, the way of integration (what to do and what not to do), and role modeling. The training needs to include training manuals and materials.
  3. Ensuring that all attendees are trained adequately and have a solid understanding of the training material. This will include administering a test prior and after the training, to assess the training’s quality and relevance.
  4. Developing pre-posttests, collecting pre-post data, and submitting a final electronic report.
  5. Submit reports and updates after the sessions conducted including feedback, concerns, and recommendations for further training.
  6. The training shall be conducted in Arabic.
  7. Training sessions and materials.
  8. Report after the training including feedback, and recommendations.
  9. Note: the payment will happen as a lumpsum after the end of the training and the submission of the report.
