ABB is offering a job opportunity as a Sales Engineer in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy - Developing strategic sales plan for drives service sales for allocated customers. Identifying customer installed base and identify issues faced by customer and key decision makers at customer organization, so that proactive solutions can be implemented. Identifying projects from beginning and start working with end users and consultants to influence the requirement towards ABB solution.
  • Generating enquiries for complete drives service Portfolio through proactive sales and generating orders so that the target can be achieved for each year. Implementing group sales strategies for ensuring accurate forecasting of the orders. Ensuring that all commercial and legal aspects are considered during finalization of orders to ensure that ABB’s risk is minimized. Participating in regular sales reviews and supporting the team to achieve their targets. Promoting digitalization solutions and energy efficiency for drives
  • Promoting preventive maintenance and reconditioning for drives. Mapping complete installed base to ensure that more than 90% of installed base is allotted to site. Visiting customer, study the technical specification and submit offers for ABB as well as non-ABB replacements. Organizing customized technical events to improve ABB’s acceptability with end users. Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business and following all applicable legal, customer and ABB’s health, safety and environment requirements all the time. Supports the customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers. Provides technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations and offers service product/ solution.
  • Getting familiar with ABB tools to prepare study reports for value added solutions like Energy efficiency reports and life cycle assessment reports. Developing sales pipeline with creative offering in market. Having best knowledge on Complete VFD service portfolio with deep technical information on each product.
  • Sales Targets - Responsible for sales target on VFD Service business.
  • Sells services products to customers, focusing on volume, service category and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups. Ensuring Sales achievements through regular oversight, definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
  • Offer Preparation - Prepares/supports preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives. Participates in the kick off meeting organized by the project team. Preparing innovative solutions to customers for best suitable for their requirement using ABB VFD Solutions. Taking ownership of the sales process and adherence to internal controls.
  • Risk Review - Provides information to the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy and sometimes participates in the risk review assessment.
  • Customer Relations - Supporting the development of strong customer relationship with key customers and ensure impactful marketing communication.
  • Channel Partner - Identify suitable channel partners fits for ABB Strategy to our products in assigned market.
  • Technical knowledge on VFD and VFD applications. Knowledge on VFD services and preventive maintenance. Developing energy appraisal reports with saving analysis for VFD application. Getting familiar with all ABB VFD Service tools and usage its daily basis.

Eligibility criteria

  • hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sales/Marketing or equivalent,
  • Sales experience of 3-5 years in electrical at the eastern region for the industrial segment
  • VFD knowledge and VFD application knowledge.
  • Service sales background with customer relationship.
  • ARAMCO's customer handling experience is a plus.
