Opportunity description

Aramex offers a job opportunity in the UAE as an investor relations officer. You will work closely with the company's CEO, CFO, CSO and segment leadership to communicate the company's strategy & financial results to its investors and the global research community. This role requires superior financial, modeling, accounting, strategic and team leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of the media industry and the landscape in which the company operates (which is evolving rapidly). You must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives (including the CEO and CFO), as well as segment management and local managers at the business units. This role is a key external liaison between the company and investors, portfolio managers and analysts at sell-side and buy-side institutions. You will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the senior leadership team to create and present a clear and confident message to the investment community. This role will be responsible for monitoring and presenting to management, and the board of directors, the opinions of the investment community regarding company performance, industry trends, and actions that may affect the company’s share price.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. Strong communication skills and the ability to absorb and analyze information quickly and a keen understanding of the competitive landscape in which the company operates.
  2. Strong coordination skills and the ability to coordinate with a large range of decision-makers internally and externally (investor base, regulator, stock exchange, media, etc).
  3. Strong financial analytical skills.
  4. Bachelor’s degree, MBA with an emphasis in finance is preferred.
  5. 5+ years’ experience in investor relations/finance function within a public company or analytical sell/buy-side role covering public market.
  6. Ability to build relationships with and interact effectively with investors and financial analysts, as well as executive management, peers, and subordinates to gain cooperation from others, including those in other departments.
  7. Demonstrated success leading a strategic investor relations function, including having successfully developed and implemented strategic, proactive IR plans that have delivered results in a publicly-traded company.
  8. Confidence and a proven ability to communicate both orally and in writing, including the dissemination of financial performance and related information.
  9. Possess a strong network of investment community relationships, including investors, analysts, rating agencies and financial media.
  10. Strong financial analysis skills, broad industry knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of investor relations.
  11. Ability to take ownership of projects in area of responsibility and drive them through to completion.
  12. Demonstrated ability to work across the broader finance, accounting, strategy, product development, and sales functions to understand and influence business trends and incorporate this understanding into external communications.
  13. Experience in the company's core markets, competitors, and the subscription business model (recurring revenue and cost structure) are highly desirable.
  14. Be willing to travel 20-30% of the time for investor meetings and presentations.
  15. From 3 to 4 years of relevant post-MBA work experience.
  16. It's preferred to have CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the ongoing refinement of key messaging and market positioning based on company performance, market perception, expectations, peer performance and relative valuation.
  • Develop and provide counsel on key metrics, guidance progression, and disclosure policies.
  • Analyze internal and external forecasts, data, and assumptions to provide an aggregated view of expectations and implications for the stock price and investor and analysts' perception.
  • Advice on optimal communications for analysts and investors including post-earnings call messaging for each.
  • Speak to investors on behalf of the company.
  • Plan, manage and attend investor events, investor and analyst meetings, roadshows and conference calls and manage relationships with the stock exchange (DFM).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gain a deep understanding of the business and ensure that corporate messaging is consistent.
  • Craft and communicate messaging around financial results, strategy, growth opportunities and business initiatives to analysts and investors.
  • Continuously updating investor presentations and other financial reports such as the annual report in line with industry standards.
  • Manage the process for quarterly earnings process as preparation of materials including earnings conference call scripts, press releases, Q&A documents, and other associated materials for sell-side and buy-side post-earnings calls.
  • Advise and update investor presentation and accompanying voiceover for investor conferences, 1x1 meetings and non-deal roadshows.
  • Provide guidance on the company's IR website and corporate content.
  • Stay informed on relevant macro and sector news flow and trends; monitor and communicate internally about competitive information.
  • Relays market perception to the management. Gather and synthesize feedback from the investor community in a timely manner to the management team.
  • Analyze the activity of top shareholders and communicate this to the management team.
