Climate change is real and a good majority of fossil fuel companies acknowledge this, at least rhetorically. How they translate that acknowledgement into risk oversight and capital planning is another thing, however -- some companies are starting to manage climate risk in a robust way and some continue to opt for inaction. Ceres' Carbon Asset Risk initiative works with investors who engage these companies on climate and energy transition issues, with a focus on high-cost, high-carbon oil & gas projects that face the most risk of becoming uneconomic.
