Opportunity description

Al-Futtaim is offering a job opportunity in Doha, Qatar as a Senior Accountant - General Ledger, to assist in the production of the operation’s accounts while ensuring internal controls and compliance with policies and Delegation of Authority.

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Assist in the monthly accounts closing process (i.e. record closing entries, prepaid expenses, accruals Revenue/ Expense, and account reconciliations, periodic processes in SAP)
  2. Ensures general ledger balances reconciliations are supported by sufficient support and are appropriate and accurate relating to expenses, provisions, assets and 
  3. Ensures bank reconciliation are reconciled and have no overdue reconciling items.
  4. Preparation of the month end GLs schedules to support the financial statements including maintaining OPEX assets register and also provide commentary on variances between Budgets vs. Actual
  5. Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Forecast 
  6. Assist in the preparation of the monthly reports and actuals vs budget analysis, providing ad hoc reporting as requested.
  7. Prepare year end audit schedules to support the financial statements.
  8. Conducting assets-OPEX physical count
  9. Conduct tenant’s trading analysis highlighting key trends based on the available information


Eligibility criteria

  1. Minimum qualification - CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA/CFA/CMA. 
  2. 5-7 years of relevant experience with a strong knowledge of IFRS and ongoing technical accounting proficiency sufficient to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of the books and records of the Company.
  3. Job-Specific Skills: 
  • Power BI / Tableau
  • SAP / Yardi experience 
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Focused attention to detail and analytical skills.
