Al-Futtaim is offering a job opportunity in Doha, Qatar as a Senior Accountant - General Ledger, to assist in the production of the operation’s accounts while ensuring internal controls and compliance with policies and Delegation of Authority.
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist in the monthly accounts closing process (i.e. record closing entries, prepaid expenses, accruals Revenue/ Expense, and account reconciliations, periodic processes in SAP)
- Ensures general ledger balances reconciliations are supported by sufficient support and are appropriate and accurate relating to expenses, provisions, assets and
- Ensures bank reconciliation are reconciled and have no overdue reconciling items.
- Preparation of the month end GLs schedules to support the financial statements including maintaining OPEX assets register and also provide commentary on variances between Budgets vs. Actual
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Forecast
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly reports and actuals vs budget analysis, providing ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Prepare year end audit schedules to support the financial statements.
- Conducting assets-OPEX physical count
- Conduct tenant’s trading analysis highlighting key trends based on the available information
Eligibility criteria
- Minimum qualification - CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA/CFA/CMA.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience with a strong knowledge of IFRS and ongoing technical accounting proficiency sufficient to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of the books and records of the Company.
- Job-Specific Skills:
- Power BI / Tableau
- SAP / Yardi experience
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Focused attention to detail and analytical skills.
