Anantara Jobs in UAE: Director of Engineering

Anantara is offering a job opportunity in United Arab Emirates as a full-time Director of Engineering at Anantara Dubai Downtown Hotel.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues.  Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are: 

Planning and Organizing: 

1. To comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health, and safety licensing and provide all necessary safety equipment required for work to be carried out efficiently and safely. 
2. Plan and manage all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations. 

Administration:

1. Liaise with People & Culture overall employee matters including recruitment and interviewing. 
2. Control all payroll and business expenditures of the department. 

Maintenance 

1. Provide in-house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance using well-trained, presentable personnel carrying out maintenance works in an efficient, discreet, and guest-friendly manner. 
2. Carry out continuous inspections to ensure the highest level of guest comfort is maintained and that all services are in proper working condition.

1. College degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Five years of operating experience in a similar capacity.
3. Familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.
4. Familiar with the local government requirements and regulations.
5. Passion for leadership.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. The Director of Engineering must speak fluent English and the language of the local country. 
2. He/She ideally should be certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 
3. Must have not less than five years of operating experience in a hotel engineering department. 
4. Must be familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.
