Job in Egypt: Executive Assistant to the Regional Director at Ashoka Arab World

Ashoka Arab World offers a job opportunity for the position of executive assistant to the regional director. This role needs you to have flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside partners. There are effectively no set office hours, you are obliged to respond to crises and demands when they arise. You will have excellent opportunities to learn and develop skills for international careers in the social sector.

Working closely with the Regional Director, you will assist her in many aspects of her work managing the AAW office (including, for example, staff management, fundraising, project management, internal operations, and financial management), and your specific responsibilities will be:

• Conduct follow-up on correspondence between the RD and other external parties or the staff of the office.
• Send out specific emails from the RD to appropriate Ashoka Arab World staff members, and ensure that all emails are answered.
• Scheduling: Ensure that the RD’s time is well organized through intelligent planning and management of her appointments and meetings in collaboration with the RD’s Personal Assistant.
• Strategic Communication.
• Trips and Event Management: Handle the RD’s travel logistics, reports etc.
• Meetings: Attend meetings and phone calls, take notes, and perform and follow up on established action items.
• Filing: Organize the Regional Director's files in hard and soft copies. 
• Research: Prepare research briefs on potential investors and partners, Fellows, and various other topics.
• Writing and Social Media: Contribute to RD’s blog and promote the English blog using social media. 
• The RD has various other commitments and roles outside of AAW - you are expected to provide support in those areas as well.

You must have:

• B.A. with 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Native fluency in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Powerpoint, Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical skills, excellent organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, and great attention to detail. 
• Understanding Ashoka’s vision and work.
• Demonstrate her/his commitment to social change.
• Team player with a high level of commitment.
• Able to work normal office hours (9 am until 5 pm, five days a week), and work until 8 or 9 pm during major events.

Please note: Starting salary is LE 13,000 gross per month for the first year, with a possible increase - based on performance - available in the second year.
