Duties & responsibilities

During your tenure as a Business Analyst in Indirect Tax, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop knowledge of relevant tax rules and regulations and their associated processes to formulate solutions for client problems.
  • Conduct research and use appropriate facts, analysis, and conclusions to draft technical advice, reports, memoranda and other deliverables relevant to tax laws and rules.
  • Recognize the key capabilities required to deliver a high quality service experience to the client.
  • Collect, assimilate, and analyze data and use standard processes and tools to help surface and support solutions in the Tax and Legal business.
  • Applying technology knowledge to address client business challenges.
  • Prepare basic tax returns and refunds by referencing tax implications, opportunities, and their optimization.
  • Establish relationships with tax authorities and learns the local tax organizational structure, responsibilities, rights and obligations of taxpayers, tax authorities, and Deloitte.
  • Applying customs laws, rulings, and jurisprudence (fiscal and non-fiscal) principles and the interaction of customs and global trade (CGT) laws with non-CGT disciplines to projects.
  • Build your own understanding of Deloitte purpose and values; explore opportunities for impact.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development; act as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent.
  • Understand expectations and demonstrate personal accountability for keeping performance on track.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field.
  • Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs).
  • Demonstrated leadership, and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.  
  • Fluent in English (Reading, Speaking and Writing).
  • Preference will be given to Bilingual candidates (Arabic/English).
