Disney Internship in Disney: Video Systems Designer (Project Hire/Internal Assignment)

Disney is Video Systems Designer (Project Hire/Internal Assignment) internship in Celebration, Florida, United States.

With a strong understanding of Video Systems Design theory and practice, you will provide technical design expertise in the areas of media playback, programming, routing, and displays technology.

• Participation in project's creative development and defines scope by identifying system needs and functions based on creative goals
• Development/execution of video system designs for live shows and facility infrastructure as assigned.
• Providing an integrated structure throughout the entire process of development through implementation of live show entertainment product, and development of equipment and labor budgets

• 3 or more years experience in video systems design in live show/theatrical production, live event production, technical, and stage management production
• Experience with current technology and industry standards for all aspects of Video Systems Design (theatrical, industrial, concert, cinematic, etc.) as applied to live show and facility infrastructure systems
• Advanced experience with most video delivery systems, such as, LED monitors and screens, and high-powered projectors
• Advanced comprehension of the various formats for video content creation and compatible delivery systems in both file delivery and live delivery environment, and understanding of SMPTE standards
• Understanding of video distribution and routing systems, including advanced network setup, advanced signal flow, file management, and advanced Video programming methods
• Able to work well under pressure with a variety of personalities while maintaining an open and positive perspective that reflects confident professionalism and an unconditional dedication to providing consistently superior products and services
• Ability to work closely with Technical Director(s) and Video crew to prioritize, organize, instruct and problem-solve during installation, content integration and programming
• Must be able to read architectural blueprints and interpret electrical drawings
• Ability to support the creative process by collaborating with other Designers, Directors, Writers and Producers
• Possess excellent communication skills; highly motivated; can accept direction easily
• Proficiency with CAD drafting programs both 2D and 3D
• Ability to deliver on a Project's established scope, schedule and budget
• General understanding of 3D and UV workflow and principals of Projection Mapping on a large scale.
• Demonstrated commitment to stay current with video display delivery systems technology, and research & development efforts within industry as well as with content formatting requirements and basic content creation parameters
• Ability to work flexible hours - nights, weekends, holidays
• Must have, or be willing to obtain a passport and corporate credit card for travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of TWDC Standards and/or Industry Standards
• Willingness to travel on domestic and international assignments as
• Fluency in any additional languages is a plus (Mandarin, French, Japanese, Spanish, etc.)

Required Education

• College degree or equivalent work experience in the technical aspects of Video/Broadcast Production, or Theater Arts and its associated skills, with focus on live show entertainment

Preferred Education

• BA in Theater Technology and Design, Video/Broadcast Production or equivalent work experience
