Opportunity description
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announces its need for a Donor Relations Professional at UNRWA Headquarters in Amman, Jordan. The position is part of the Agency’s External Relations and Resource Mobilization Department and is responsible for implementing fundraising strategies and expanding funding sources to support UNRWA’s various programs and projects.
Duties & responsibilities
- Manage donor relationships and maintain continuous communication with funding partners.
- Develop funding strategies and support the preparation and implementation of fundraising plans.
- Prepare documentation and reports and develop project proposals/presentations.
- Coordinate internally and collaborate with different UNRWA departments.
- Participate in official meetings and visits.
- Analyze and follow up on the implementation of agreements and monitor various donor-funded budgets.
Eligibility criteria
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) from an accredited institution in Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Economics, Development Studies or Humanitarian Studies, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, political analysis, or management of institutional cooperation projects in a UN context, donor governments, or international NGOs is required.
- At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the candidate’s country (or countries) of nationality is required.
- Candidates are required to declare any current or past affiliations with NGOs, academic institutions, political or military organizations, or whether they have engaged in activities or made public statements that could be considered to affect their impartiality, objectivity, or independence in performing duties for the UN/UNRWA. Any such declaration does not necessarily disqualify candidates from applying for this position.
