GEMS Education Vacancy in UAE: Head of HSE

GEMS Education is offering a job opportunity at SCHOOL SUPPORT CENTRE - Dubai, UAE, as a Head of HSE. To be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the GEMS Group health, safety, and environmental processes to ensure a best practice and incident-free environment.

The post holder will lead and manage the HSE audit framework and ensure compliance and corrective action plans are in place across all business units where necessary, to ensure the health and safety of all employees, students, and other school community members. 

1. Strategy and management: Develop and implement an effective HSE strategy with clear policies and procedures, across all GEMS Business Units
2. HSE Framework Compliance: Accountable for ensuring all HSE incidents are reported consistently, and that data is analysed with key trends reported and corrective actions recommended.
3. HSE Framework Implementation: Accountable for the pre-acquisition HSE Due Diligence reviews and HSE management reports and support the business to implement corrective actions where necessary.
4. Training and Development: Ensure all HSE Managers and school operations managers have access to effective training.
5. Environmental Management System: Lead the development and ongoing management of an environmental management system.
6. Drive HSE Culture: Act as a HSE Champion and a trusted advisor to the school operations teams on all health and safety matters to raise the profile and standards of health and safety across all business units.

• Preferably a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• H&S-related qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
• Grad IOSH member
• 15+ years of managerial HSE experience
• Experience with ISO governance frameworks
• Ability to develop and deliver H&S training sessions.
