Opportunity description
Disney is offering an internship opportunity for students in human resources in the United States. The intern will join the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) that manages operations of the Company’s streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+ Hotstar, and Star; as well as all domestic broadcast and cable television networks. DMED is also responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company’s content engines.
Duties & responsibilities
As part of DMED’s Compensation team, our intern will provide support to Compensation leaders in all aspects of managing DMED compensation programs, across base pay and incentive pay. Programs include market survey and salary structure models, job matching & role assignment, auditing systems of record, and establishing checks on administering variable pay. Critical thinking, analytical and excel skills, good time management, communication of project progression, and organization skills are critical for this position. Prior professional experience is helpful but not necessary.
Eligibility criteria
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last eighteen (18) months at the time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, or Disney Professional Internship Program.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduated with a major in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word & SharePoint.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (vlookup formulae and pivot tables).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills allowing you to work well with colleagues across departments at many levels.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, eager to learn, and willing to take on new challenges.
- Well organized, with strong relationship building and time management skills.
- Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines and effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building & maintaining SharePoint site(s) that allow teams to collaborate & navigate through resources.
Additional Information:
- The approximate dates of this internship are September 2021 – January 2022
- The candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Work Environment: This internship is a remote internship with the possibility to move to the office. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace and the ability to work independently.
- Receptive to work with teams located in Bristol, CT & Burbank, CA.
