Opportunity description

Walt Disney is offering a Travel & Expense Audit Internship in the USA. Global Travel & Expense manages all of the technology, processes, and systems that drive travel booking, expense settlement, credit card issuance expense auditing, and end-user support in accordance with the guidelines of The Walt Disney Company’s Travel & Entertainment policy. The approximate dates of this internship are January 2022 - June 2022. Interns must be fully available 40 hours/week for the duration of the internship.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Uncover potential fraud/policy abuse issues and communicate them to the audit team with recommended solutions for which you will lead the implementation.
  • Challenge procedures used in the past and attempt to enhance internal audit capabilities, both for internal QC and external Concur Audit Services programs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the work environment.
  • Maintain a strong focus on financial controls, be responsive to audit issues, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with internal team members and the Concur Audit Services team.
  • Collaborate with team members to set goals and responsibilities where improvement opportunities have been identified.
  • Contribute ideas/opinions, listen/respond to other team members' views.
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members to enhance audit quality and effectiveness.
  • Use advanced excel skills and leverage internal reporting resources to develop predictive reporting aimed at early identification of potential abuse and fraud opportunities and suggest ways to mitigate through early intervention.
  • Perform other special project assignments as requested by the Global Audit Services Manager.

Eligibility criteria

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Quick and eager learner with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work respectfully with a diverse global employee population.
  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work activities to use time effectively, always ready to handle a multitude of urgent matters.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expressed career path in an Auditing role.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior auditing experience.
  • Experience working with large scale global financial systems.
  • Required Education
  • Junior or Senior currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months) an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or other related major.

Eligibility:-

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
