Opportunity description

BASF offers an internship opportunity at the field of Risk Management in Germany. The risk management and governance unit is part of the corporate finance department and is responsible for risks with clients and financial institutions. You will become part of the team starting August 2022 for 3 to 6 months.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Support the company in projects related to customer credit risk, trade finance and bank risk management.
  • Collaborate in the assessment of short-term country risks and get to know different hedging instruments.
  • In the context of bank risk management, you will support the company in the credit rating of financial institutions, global limit allocation and the corresponding monitoring.
  • You will be involved in the preparation of analyses of the financial and capital markets as well as individual key accounts.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Degree in economics, industrial engineering, computer science or mathematics.
  • Basic knowledge of balance sheets, cash flow statements and profit and loss statements.
  • It's preferred to have knowledge of SQL, R, SAP and databases (depending on personal interest and skills, an internship with IT focus is possible).
  • Experienced handling of MS Office standard applications.
  • Very good analytical skills and an always accurate and independent way of working.
