MBC Group offers a job opportunity and seeks an environmental technician to join its environmental team in Edmonton, Alberta. You will join a growing team, working with a close team of professionals, while using your experience and skills to complete a diverse and broad scope of work activities. You will be supported by experienced technicians, project managers, and senior team members and leaders.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Conduct field work, manage assigned projects, and prepare technical environmental reports.
- Consult and support hazardous building material assessment projects.
- Monitoring during hazardous building material remediation projects.
- Mold assessment and remediation design.
- Air Quality Monitoring.
- Mould, Lead, and Asbestos Sampling.
- Prepare quotations and proposals for projects and bids.
- Participate in the company's National Safety Program.
- Train and obtain certifications to offer customers new services.
- Participate in marketing and business development activities/initiatives.
- Participate in customer training programs.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- A diploma in environmental, building sciences, industrial hygiene, or an environmental-related field.
- A minimum of one year experience in the environmental, safety, abatement, construction, insurance, or restoration industry.
- Experience in Asbestos, Hazmat, IAQ projects, and field consulting.
- Certification in Water Damage Restoration, Fire Damage Restoration, and/ or Microbial Remediation.
- Demonstrated competency in the following areas: verbal and written communication, technical report writing, client relations, coordination and prioritization of workload, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Pass a respirator fit test.
- A valid driver's license and own a reliable vehicle.
Please note:
- Travel and after-hours work is typically required on a call-out basis.
- This position is approximately 80% field work, and 20% office-based with travel across Alberta and across Western Canada.
