Job Opportunity as a Civil Engineer at UNOPS in Jordan

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is offering a full-time job opportunity as a Lead Civil Engineer to join the team in Amman, Jordan. 

1. Provide an overview of the hydrology study and environmental study.
2. Provide needed calculations for structure analysis and stability.
3. Provide needed calculations to determine culvert size in order to drain maximum anticipated rain stormwater.
4. Provide required material study with supporting calculation and data for all road layers.
5. To grant needed approval for road furniture designed by Dar Al-Omran (Project designer).
6. Prepare an evaluation report that describes the evaluation and puts forward the evaluator’s findings and recommendations.
7. Respond to all design review comments with supporting documents and needed calculations via engineering models to get a design review certificate.

Education:

• Masters’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration and/or Project/ Programme Management, Humanitarian Assistance, Development Policy/ Planning, Social Sciences or a relevant field with 5 years of demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in project management and evaluation is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with additional two years (7 years) of demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in project management and evaluation is required.

Experience:

• At least 5 years (or more depending on academic credentials) of projects evaluation experience and participation in complex evaluation of humanitarian/development-related projects/ programmes.
• Experience in project management and result-based management and reporting is required.
• Experience in producing evidence-based evaluation reports is required.
• Experience working in an international NGO, UN agency or other international technical cooperation agency is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of innovative technologies in project evaluation and tracking is highly desirable.

Language Requirement:

Fluency in Arabic and Intermediate in English is required.
